What services do you offer?
1
I offer individual therapy and couples therapy for adolescents and adults. My approach is psychoanalytic-informed, which means we may explore not only the concerns bringing you to therapy now, but also patterns in relationships, emotions, experiences, and ways of understanding yourself that may have developed over time. Therapy is tailored to each patient or couple rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

How do I get started?
2
Call or email to schedule an initial appointment or phone consultation. Once your intake appointment is scheduled, you’ll receive an invitation to the patient portal to complete your intake paperwork.
During our first session, I’ll review confidentiality, billing and insurance procedures, the cancellation policy, and what you can expect from therapy, and conduct a diagnostic interview to learn more about your history and what brings you to therapy. While the first session begins this process, developing an understanding of you and your concerns will continue throughout our work together.
In addition to calling or emailing, you can submit an inquiry here.
How often would we meet?

How long does therapy take?
The frequency of therapy depends on your needs, goals, circumstances, and the type of concerns we are addressing.
For individual therapy, I typically begin by meeting with patients at least once weekly. Some patients meet two or three times per week, particularly when they are interested in more frequent and in-depth exploration. Over time, the frequency of sessions may change as your needs and circumstances change.
I typically meet with couples weekly or biweekly, depending on their needs.
The length of therapy varies from person to person and depends on your needs, goals, and what you are able to commit to. Because my approach is psychoanalytic-informed, therapy is generally a long-term process that allows for deeper exploration and understanding.
There is no predetermined endpoint. We will regularly assess how therapy is progressing and adjust as your needs and circumstances change.

Do you accept insurance?
I offer in-person therapy in Minneapolis at my office at Tangletown Psychotherapy and Assessment Center at 6 E Diamond Lake Rd. The office is conveniently located near I-35W and nearby Minneapolis neighborhoods including Tangletown, Kingfield, Lynnhurst, and Field.
Yes, I offer HIPAA-compliant Telehealth therapy in addition to in-person appointments. Telehealth can provide greater flexibility for patients who prefer to meet remotely or who have difficulty traveling to the office. Please note that you must be located in Minnesota to receive services from me.
The rate for intake sessions is $350. Following your intake, my rate is $250 per session. For those with insurance, I have a contracted rate, which is often lower; if you have a deductible or co-insurance, this is the amount you would be responsible for. I accept debit/credit cards, check, and cash payments. For those not using insurance, I offer sliding-scale rates based on income and frequency of appointments. If cost is a concern, please inquire about sliding scale.
I accept most insurance plans, with the exception of UnitedHealth and Medica. I can either bill directly to insurance or provide a Superbill to you for reimbursement.
Because insurance coverage can vary depending on your specific plan and benefits, I recommend confirming your mental health benefits with your insurance provider before beginning treatment. Because I am working under supervision, my name will not be listed on insurance databases; please search by my supervisor’s name, Bryan Plucar, LP.
